Dining Out: Forgotten Favorites

We don’t dine out very often and when we do, we usually head to The Outback. Last night, I did something that I haven’t done in months. I veered away from my standard Prime Rib (hubby & I split) and got a sirloin/shrimp combo…I asked for coconut shrimp. Breaded coconut shrimp. I thought my stomach could handle it, I really did. I was wrong. Within 20 minutes my stomach started cramping and my night of being uncomfortable began. After a few hours of reading and a couple of cups of Chamomile tea, sleepiness thankfully set it.

This morning, the only questions I have deal with the food I once ate. Food should NOT make us feel sick. The only side effects of eating should be a strong body, a healthy body. Not cramps!

Looking back at my favorite dishes, desserts, and snacks from my pre-Paleo life, I realize that they will not be forgotten but re-invented.

Off to create some Paleo friendly Coconut Shrimp and Fried Dill Pickles 🙂
