Garam Masala Spice Recipe

My household loves Indian food! Hitting up our favorite local Indian restaurant weekly was a part of our weekly routine before we went Paleo…now we make our own. Garam Masala is a spice staple in Indian cuisine that I couldn’t find in the ethnic section at several grocery stores, so making our own was the next logical choice.

Save some money and time, by putting these spices together and create your own Garam Masala spice.

1/3 cup ground cinnamon
1/3 cup ground black pepper
1/4 cup ground black cardamom seeds
1/4 cup ground cloves
3 Tbsp ground green cardamom seeds

In a medium pan, roast all spices together for approximately 2 minutes. Cool and store in a container. Place in refrigerator for a longer shelf life of one year.
